I am a writer and translator from Montes Claros, Brazil currently based in Tokyo, Japan.
My recent work focuses on introspective prose poems and freeform texts that explore urban life and fleeting moments in the city. I also enjoy exploring urban spaces and capturing snippets of daily life in micropoems and other styles.
When it comes to translation, I am aware that there is no such a thing as a perfect translation. However, my goal is to convey – to the extent possible – the message present in the original. I have experience translating theater playbooks, academic texts, poetry and corporate communication in Portuguese, English, and to some extent, Japanese.
Beyond writing and translating, I hold a BA in Law and Japanese Studies, as well as an MA in Public Policy, with research on Japanese opposition parties, public housing policies and community building in Japan and abroad.
